The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services Chaplaincy Department held its 2nd Biennial Chaplains, Volunteers and Caregivers Conference, March 12, 2026 at Faith United Baptist Church to the theme, ‘Chains to Change: The Power of Redemptive Care.’
The Hon. Wayne Munroe, Minister of National Security opened the conference with the keynote address. He applauded the department for investing in the conference and hoped the chaplains, volunteers and caregivers would continue to be the hands and the voices of the inmates. The conference runs March 12-14.
Some topics that will be discussed include Confidentiality and Trust in Chaplaincy Care; Restorative Justice and the Ministry of Reconciliation; Breaking the Cycle of Recidivism through Care and Faith; and Serving Without Compromise: Faith Policy and Practice.
