Coalition Of Independents Leader, Lincoln Bain delivered a cease and desist letter to the Parliamentary Registration Department on Tuesday.

Bain told reporters democracy is risk because the Parliamentary Commissioner does not have access to the vault where election materials is kept. He said, “the danger of the current situation is one, that it breaks the law and we must operate within the law. The police, the government always asks us to operate within the law, do things the right way. If you want the law to change then simply change it. You are the legislature. But as it stands the custody of our election material should be in the hands of the Parliamentary Commissioner only.”

Parliamentary Commissioner, Harrison Thompson denied Bain’s claims. He said he told Bain that there were two keys, one held by the Security and Intelligence Branch (SIB) and the other by the Commissioner of Police. Entry to the vault can only be obtained with both keys at the same time. He was unphased by Bains cease and desist letter.
