Comfort Smiles, founded on May 1st, 2017, by Dr. Welmilya Francis, has quickly become a household name, not only for its quality dental services but also for its passionate commitment to the community. The practice has become a fixture of positive energy and progress, driven by a vision to inspire, mentor, and create healthy smiles for all ages. With its unwavering dedication to promoting excellent dental care, the practice has earned a reputation for transforming smiles and, by extension, lives.
Comfort Smiles Dental is deeply embedded in the Bahamian community. The practice actively participates in numerous health fairs and forums, often leading discussions and providing valuable insights into effective dental care practices. These initiatives not only educate the public but also highlight the importance of dental health as a crucial component of general health.
The Practice established a community partnership with the former Centerevill Primary School several years ago, and it remains committed to its annual outreach with the school. Comfort Smiles has a passion for community service, which is further demonstrated through regular dental outreach programs and initiatives. These efforts are aimed at reaching underserved populations who may not have easy access to dental care. By extending services beyond the clinic’s walls, Comfort Smiles Dental fosters a culture of care, making oral health a priority while strengthening its bond with the community.
On Friday, March 14th, 2025, Comfort Smiles opened its doors for an exciting and educational outreach event with the bright and energetic fifth and sixth graders of Judith P. Thompson Primary School. The kids were in for a treat—literally and figuratively! The day kicked off with an engaging oral health care lesson, where students learned about the importance of brushing, flossing, and taking care of their teeth. To make it even more fun, games were incorporated to keep the young minds engaged and laughing.
Each student received a free dental cleaning, and after all that learning and excitement, they were treated to snacks to keep the energy up. The Comfort Smiles team went above and beyond to make sure the kids not only walked away with healthier smiles but also a fun experience to remember.
Dr. Francis, who is a community-driven leader, couldn’t have been more thrilled to offer her expertise and give back to the next generation. Comfort Smiles isn’t just about teeth—it’s about building a stronger, healthier community, one smile at a time!
When she’s not mentoring the amazing team at Comfort Smiles, Dr. Francis regularly participates in career expos, speaks at oral health presentations, and has been a trusted mentor to many interns. She continues to lead by example, showing the importance of giving back and making a difference in the community.
Comfort Smiles will be celebrating its 8th Anniversary on May 1st, 2025. Eight (8) years to purposely promoting oral health. In an era where healthcare is increasingly seen as transactional, Comfort Smiles Dental remains committed to a different vision—one where building relationships, fostering community trust, and achieving long-lasting health outcomes are at the forefront. Dr Francis and her team’s dedication to excellence and community engagement not only enhances their reputation but also ensures that the beautiful smiles of their patients reflect the vibrant spirit of the Practice.
