Coral Harbour Traffic Fatality

A man died in a traffic accident that occurred on Coral Harbour Road in New Providence on Tuesday. This incident is the latest in a string of traffic fatalities around the country that have claimed the lives of a man in Abaco, a woman in Grand Bahama and four young women in New Providence.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Traffic Division, Lakeisha Sawyer was on the scene where she provided details of the incident. She told reporters, “a black jeep driven by a female was traveling east and a blue Suzuki Swift driven by a male was traveling west on Coral Harbour Road when the collision occurred. After the collision the vehicle would have spun causing the male to be ejected from the vehicle. EMS responded and did a preliminary examination of the body and pronounced the victim lifeless.”

ASP Sawyer said based on the damage sustained by the vehicle speed was a factor in the incident. She also appealed to motorist to exercise care and attention while driving. Sawyer said, “we are doing numerous road checks on the road. We wish to advise you to stay within the speed limit and be cautious of being on your phone while driving.

The female driver was taken to hospital for treatment.
