Bahamian Media News:

The Exempt App of the Bahamas Customs and Excise Department replaces the C17 form. As of June 12th travelers will need to declare their items via the new app.

Customs Officer Doyle Burrows Jr. explained the transition. He said, “we will not be using the paper C17. However, we will still have them but they will not be in use the app will become mandatory. So we are asking all of our travelers, residents that are returning home to download the app. It is available in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Once you have download the app everyone is required to register to if you have children traveling with you they also must be registered. Children twelve and under can be registered under their parent’s account. Anyone above the age of twelve is required to have valid email address so they can be registered separately.”

Burrows says that they are ready and prepared for the roll out of the new system on June 12th and ask that travelers download the app and complete their declarations prior to arriving in the country.
