Police are investigating the shooting death of a homeless man. The victim’s body was found in an abandoned building on Dunkirk Road in the Fox Hill community on Tuesday.

The victim was identified by family members as 68 year old Petro Green. Green’s cousin spoke with ZNS News expressing his feelings about his cousin’s death. “It hurt me a lil bit. I just talk to him about two nights ago. He was there and we was talking. Now to know he’s gone its saddening.”

Another family member Wesley Neely, who collected Green’s documents, said the victim struggled with mental illness. “We wasn’t close like that, not with him. Cause he was always wayward like so but he sister and my auntie like that but. Like I say, I here because ain nobody else here to do it.”

Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings appealed to the public for information about the incident and advised persons who know individuals that are apart of a gang to contact the police.
