Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage the Hon. Leslia Brice, on September 25, 2026, took part in a Straw Market Empowerment Seminar, held at the University of The Bahamas.  Her Ministry, in partnership with the Straw Market Authority, hosted the event that, according to the Ministry, brought vendors together for “meaningful conversations, providing an opportunity to share their experiences, voice concerns, exchange ideas and engage directly on matters affecting the Straw Market community”.
