A summit seeking to help leaders improve their skills is coming to The Bahamas with a host of talent experts due to take part.
The Global Leadership Summit Bahamas will be held on February 27-28, with local host Gadville McDonald, the Bahamas chairman for Global Leadership Summit (GLS) declaring: “Everyone wins when leaders get better.”
“We want to create the environment where leaders get better,” said McDonald, a Bahamian who holds several leadership positions himself.
“This is the 12th year we are holding this summit, and those who have taken part walk away with a resolve to lead their organisations better, so they can produce better results.”
Every year, hundreds of leaders gather locally to hear from world class and industry leaders via summit cast and in person. Around the world, more than 350,000 leaders from more than 100 countries and over 30 industries gather to learn, engage and network at the summit.
This year’s event will see representatives from acclaimed author and speaker John Maxwell attending in-person. Maxwell is one of the foremost experts in the field of leadership coaching, having published a host of works on the topic and becoming a New York Times bestseller.
Martin Overare, of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team, will be present at the event. The leadership strategist, consultant and CEO of Kenetix, a consulting firm dedicated to developing leaders, will bring a host of experience. He is also a board adviser to the Global Leadership Network UK & Ireland.
The summit is the signature event of the Global Leadership Network, a non-profit ministry that believes in leadership with a higher purpose.
“We bring together both ministry and marketplace expertise,” said organisers. “We want to see leaders inspired and equipped so they can lead transformation in their communities and around the world.”
“Our mission goes beyond events,” said local host McDonald, “with resources available year-round and programmes that inspire, equip and connect pastors, church and business leaders, the next generation, women leaders, the incarcerated, the marginalised and community leaders all over the world.”
He added: “This year’s summit is another opportunity to learn and grow in your leadership. We know for sure that everyone wins when leaders get better. This year, you would learn from world class leaders including Craig Groeschel, John Maxwell, Juliet Funt, Thasunda Brown, James Hewitt, Tasha Eurich, Stephanie Chung, David Ashcraft, Erica Dhawan and many more.”
Additionally, every year, students have attended the event – ensuring that the next generation of leaders is also being developed.
The summit will be held at Sandals Royal Bahamian Ballroom, at Cable Beach, Nassau, with a capacity of up to 400 attendees. The event will be held on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, from 8.30am-4.30pm each day. Individual registrations cost $109 per person, while groups of ten or more cost $99 per person.
The speakers at the event include Craig Groeschel, founding and senior pastor of Life Church; Christine Caine, co-founder of The A21 Campaign and Propel Women; Bradley Rapier, founder of Groove Theory and award-winning choreographer; Erica Dhawan, leading authority on 21st century teamwork, collaboration and innovation; John Maxwell, founder of Maxwell Leadership; Jon Acuff, Inc Top 100 Leadership Speaker; Juliet Funt, founder and CEO of Juliet Funt Group; James Hewitt PhD, human performance scientist; Tasha Eurich PhD, organisational psychologist and researcher; Gabriel Salguero, pastor at The Gathering Place and president of the National Latino Evangelical Coaltiion; Stephanie Chung, former chief growth officer at Wheels Up; Thasundra Brown, president and CEO of TIAA and former CEO of Consumer Bank and Auto Finance, JP Morgan Chase; David Ashcraft, president and CEO of Global Leadership Network; and Gadville McDonald, GLS Bahamas chairman.
