FNM Set To Announce More Candidates

Bahamian Media News:

The Free National Movement (FNM) is expected to name for of its candidates for the 2026 general election on Thursday.

A press event was held on Sunday where FNM leader, the Hon. Michael Pintard released the party’s ten point crime plan. He said, “these ten steps, which is apart of a broader plan, form something we believe will be tough, balanced and achievable. And so we’re not just promising what will come tomorrow we are working right now today.”

Later on Sunday the Progressive Liberal Party released a statement calling the FNM’s plan late and nothing new.

Pintard was also questioned on when the party would name the rest of its candidates. Pintard said, “as Dr. Sands also said, ‘soon ta reckly’ and we agree with Dr. Sands. Soon ta reckly will be before…by this time next week we would have ratified another group of candidates.”

He went on to say, “despite that fact that we do not have the Boundaries Commission report, even though we know the government is working diligently on it without is knowing what their plans are, by Wednesday of next week we would have ratified an additional group of candidates and I’m reasonably and reliably informed it’s Thursday of this coming week.”

The FNM announced seventeen candidates expected to run in the 2026 general election in June.
