The Free National Movement (FNM) held a launch event to showcase seventeen of its candidates for the 2026 general election on Thursday at its headquarters in New Providence.
FNM Deputy Chairman and former Parliamentarian, Travis Robinson spoke with ZNS News ahead of the start of the event about what to expect. He said, “we started from 3 pm, actually, today with the executive or what we’ve now deemed the candidates select committee. They’ve been going through all the process, reviewing all the files of each potential candidate and making a determination. We’re now at the Council level where the individuals will be officially ratified by the Free National Movement to be our standard bearer all across the different constituencies in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.”
Robinson expressed the view that the public would be pleased with the candidates chosen to represent the FNM. “They’ll be be able to look and see a list of young people, women and former persons who would have made substantial impact to the country.”
