Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment and Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper led debate on a bill to amend the Civil Aviation Act last week in the House Of Assembly.
During his presentation Cooper told Parliamentarians, “I have gone to great lengths during the budget presentation to explain what is happening with every single airport throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. I don’t intend to repeat that today, Mr. Deputy, but the reality is that we’re working very hard, we’re making steady progress. You heard during the budget debate we provided a resolution for $125 million of funding that’s going to support some of these works. Some of them will be by PPP others will be supported by these low interest loans and therefore, Mr. Deputy, we are moving swiftly ahead.”
