HOODY 2026 Movement Calls Men Back to Purpose, Leadership and Legacy

Bahamian Media News:

A powerful call to restore identity, purpose and leadership among men echoed across New Providence as HOODY 2026, a multi-day all-male empowerment experience, concluded its series of events on Sunday, April 19.

Held over two weekends, HOODY brought together boys and men from across The Bahamas in what organizers describe as more than an event—but a movement focused on “restoring glory to manhood.” The Ministry of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting proudly provided support for HOODY, empowering men across the country.

At the heart of the initiative is the concept of the “hood,” not merely as a cultural symbol, but as a representation of what covers the head—Hope, Emotional Stability, Affirmation and Divine Direction. Organizers emphasized that when a man is properly covered spiritually, mentally and emotionally, he is better equipped to lead in his family, community and nation.

The experience was built around the ACE framework—Athletics, Celebration and Empowerment—creating a holistic environment for engagement and growth.

The opening weekend featured an Elite 8 Basketball Invitational, drawing strong participation and community support, while also creating a platform for camaraderie and positive competition among young men.

A key highlight of the second weekend was the Day 1 Youth Symposium, which brought together emerging voices and experienced leaders to speak directly into the lives of young men. Headline speakers Delvonne Duncombe and T Ian “Gamechanger” Thompson Jr delivered messages centered on discipline, mindset and purpose, followed by panel discussions and interactive sessions designed to encourage accountability and direction.

The momentum continued into the Adult Male Session, where men gathered for what was described as an “Hour of Power,” featuring worship and prayer, alongside targeted sessions such as the “Level Up” seminar for single men and a featured presentation on “The Glory of Marriage.” The evening concluded with a collective call to reflection, responsibility and renewed commitment.

In addition to empowerment sessions, HOODY also created space for recognition through its awards component, celebrating men who exemplify leadership, integrity and positive impact within their communities.

Organizers say the initiative directly addresses some of the most pressing challenges facing men today, including identity confusion, lack of direction, emotional instability and the absence of strong role models. Through mentorship, dialogue and spiritual grounding, HOODY aims to rebuild men from the inside out.

Guided by the theme “Restoring Glory to Manhood,” the movement is focused on raising men who are covered in character, committed to leadership and connected to purpose.

As the curtains closed on HOODY 2026, the message remained clear—when men are strengthened, families are stabilized and communities are transformed.

Organizers have signaled that this is only the beginning, with plans to expand the initiative and continue building a network of empowered men across the country.
