Bahamian Media News:

Member of Parliament for Centreville, the Hon. Jomo Campbell hosted a back to school event in his constituency over the weekend.

Students and parents were treated to food, drinks and free school supplies. Campbell spoke with ZNS News about the significance of the event. Surrounded by children from his constituency he said, “these young boys and girls here are the future of The Bahamas and they’re the future of Centreville and we just want them to have a nice day of fun, relaxation and just to support the parents in their endevours to get them back to school properly prepared for the new school year. A lot of people don’t realize it but these young boys and girls have a lot going on in their lives too. And so if we can provide them with at least one day of some laughter, joy and happiness, you know, and a bit of fun. All children deserve to have fun, that’s what this is all about.”

Residents praised Campbell for his efforts to help children. One person said, “he loves the children, especially the children he supports more and that is the most important thing. We have to keep them out of violence, keep them in activities, afternoon classes, summer school, keep them into education and that’s what Mr. Campbell is about.”
