Veteran journalist and talk show host, Darold Miller was found dead in his home on Minnie Street over the weekend.
It was reported that a neighbour alerted authorities when a number of flies were noticed around the entry to the home. Miller was subsequently found in an advanced state of decomposition.
Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was on the scene where she provided details of the discovery to members of the media, She said, “it was around 2:30 today when a concerned neighbour contacted our department and informed that there was a swarm 0f flies surrounding the residence of her neighbour. Police responded and based on the information received the officers breached the entrance to the residence where they discovered the body of Mr. Darold Miller in an advanced state of decomposition.”
The Chief Superintendent said foul play was not suspected at the time of the discovery of the body. An autopsy is expected to be performed to determined Mr. Miller’s cause of death.
Darold Miller retired from the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas in 2023 where he hosted the Darold Miller Live talk show. He was also a popular television journalist having famously covered the Straw Market fire in 2001. During his years as a talk show host he was known for being lively and provocative.
Darold Miller was 69 years old at the time of his passing.
