Live At Atlantis

Bahamian Media News:

The Bahamas Tonight newscast was carried live from the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort on Monday. President and Managing Director of Atlantis, Audrey Oswell sat for an interview with anchor, Macushla Pinder.

Atlantis is experiencing high occupancy rates as The Bahamas’ tourist arrival numbers continue to break records. Oswell said the first quarter of 2024 exceeded last year’s numbers. “The second quarter continues to hold steady and we’re having a robust summer. We’re actually getting a lot of late summer bookings and the rest of the year the outlook is quite good.”

Though most of the visitors at Atlantis hail from the United States. Oswell expects that bookings will slow down due to the presidential elections set for the second Tuesday in November. “So far its been a typical election year. We see people start to get distracted as you get into the summer and as you get closer to the election and I think especially with the uncertainty around the election this year and some of the foolishness that’s been going on around the election. So we expect as we get closer to the election that we’ll see a little bit of softening in the market but we prepare for it. Its typical its not any different than what we’ve seen in previous election years,” she said.

With other large resort properties in the country that can cater to the same clientele as Atlantis Oswell explained what sets the Paradise Island property apart. She said, “for one, it is our team members. Without a doubt our team members stand out and excel in pleasing our customers. You know, we’ve always been focused on creating lifetime memories and lifelong memories for our guests and our team members never let our guests down. One of the things that we find here in that we have multigenerational guests. So many of them are traveling with three and sometimes even four generations and I can’t tell you have many guests have told me that got married here, they bring their children here or they’ve come here with their grandparents and now they’re bringing they’re grandchildren here. So it really makes a difference and we’re always are looking for new opportunities and interactions and immersive experiences for our guests. This summer we have the Barbie Boardwalk Adventure. We always have something exciting and different going on here and that’s what keeps our customers coming back for more.”

As for what’s next at Atlantis Oswell said plans are underway for an exciting New Year’s event and a lot of great announcements are in the pipeline they will begin to release after the summer.

The Bahamas Tonight will air nightly from the Atlantis Resort all this week.
