Multiple unions have voiced concerns and grievances recently, whether it be about working conditions, outstanding payments or staff shortages.
Minister of Labour and the Public Service, the Hon. Pia Glover-Rolle spoke with reporters about labour relations on the sidelines of the 30th anniversary of Superclubs Breezes this week. She said, “we have 48 unions in our country. If you can look you can see that there’s only a few unions that continue to agitate. For the most part, the majority of the unions in our country their matters have been ameliorated, they continue to dialogue with us socially and in a mature way and that is evidence that labour relations in my opinion and in the opinion of many unions that we meet with on a quarterly basis is moving in the right direction.”
