The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources was formally recognized by Spatial Innovision Limited for its outstanding contribution to geospatial development in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean, during a courtesy call, February 20, 2026.
The award acknowledges the Ministry’s leadership in advancing geospatial innovation, strengthening data-driven decision-making, and enhancing environmental management and national planning frameworks.
In attendance were the Minister, the Hon. Zane Lightbourne; Permanent Secretary David Davis; Forestry Unit Director Danielle Hanek; Spatial Innovision Ltd. Vice-President of Strategic Solutions Hopeton Ferguson; and Solutions Engineer Natalie Dobbs.
The Ministry continues to prioritize innovation and capacity building within the geospatial sector, recognizing its critical role in sustainable development, climate resilience, and informed policy planning.

Spatial Innovision Limited, based in Jamaica and Trinidad, is a Caribbean Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions centre.
