MP Smith Highlights West GB Progress Ahead Of PLP Campaign Launch

Bahamian Media News:

Member Of Parliament for West Grand Bahama and Bimini, the Hon. Kingsley Smith spoke with reporters outside of the House Of Assembly on Wednesday about the progress being made in his constituency.

He said, “there’s a brand new airport that is building in South Bimini, the roads in South Bimini are being repaved, the opening of the Eight Mile Rock government complex (Obadiah Wilchcombe Complex). The Holmes Rock Junior School is about to be completed. There are also plans for the rebuilding of the West End Police Station. Pine Forest Park that was dilapidated for some twenty years is being completed.”

Smith also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his support. “You would like as a Member of Parliament to say what you can do as best as you can for your constituents. Even coming as a newcomer, I try to tell the constituents the difficulty and you have to be patient. It’s a process that is not going to happen overnight. The Prime Minister has been most helpful and dedicated to the people of West Grand Bahama and Bimini.”

Smith won the West Grand Bahama and Bimini bi-election in November 2023 after the passing of the late Hon. Obie Wilchcombe.
