The Ministry of National Security observed ‘World Day Against Trafficking in Persons,’ with a recognition ceremony, July 30, 2026 at the ministry’s offices.  The ceremony, hosted by the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Inter-Ministry Committee, brought forth the collaborative efforts of government and private sector partners. The event highlighted the private sector partner, Aetos Holdings Ltd. in bringing awareness to the global human trafficking crime. 

In the opening ceremony, students Skyla Johnson and Serenity Wallace gave poetry readings to express the seriousness and effects of human trafficking, while student Jayla Knowles rendered an artistic portrait. Minister of National Security, the Hon. Myles Laroda commended the three young persons for their assistance in educating the public on human trafficking and the part being played by The Bahamas in battling the international crime.
