Grand Bahamas is set to get a new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the Grand Union Building, Freeport.
Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey said, “that’s where the DRM Authority has determined it’s going to be. And so hopefully for any other system that comes that’s where its going to be.”
The new EOC is expected to be operational before the end of the 2024 hurricane season. “The exterior work, of course, has already been done. The interior they’ve already started. They’ve already been storing a lot of the supplies and equipment there in that space and I think they’re just finalizing some of the buildout of it but that’s where its going to be.”
