Opposition Leader On Unions March To Parliament

Bahamian Media News:

Members of the Free National Movement (FNM) joined protesters from the Bahamas Union of Teachers (BUT) and the Bahamas Public Services Union (BPSU) on Bay Street Wednesday.

Leader of the Opposition and FNM Leader, the Hon. Michael Pintard told reporters he was disheartened by the barricades placed in the square blocking Bahamians access to the House Of Assembly.

Pointing towards the police officers guarding the barricades Pintard said, “they are doing their job but the people who are sending the instructions. They are the people we need to fire so that officers are able to enjoy the friendly relationship with their wives, nieces, nephews, cousins who are here fighting for more teachers in the school, to close the salary and allowances gap between the average public servant and permanent secretaries or consultants.”
