Parliamentary Commissioner Harrison Thompson conducted the first of a two-day training session at Breezes Bahamas resort, September 11, 2025 for Family Island Administrators, Local Government Officials and National Security representatives to ensure the integrity of the electoral process. Discussion focused on Family Island voter registration, citizenship/residency, the verification process, electoral procedures, and rollout of the new biometric voter’s card platform. Minister of National Security the Hon. Wayne Munroe welcomed the attendees.
That evening, Parliamentary Commissioner Thompson, with Lucretia Dean-Rolle, Michael Wright and Charles Albury, as panelists, led a Town Hall Meeting at the Keva Bethel Building, University of The Bahamas, and discussed the procedures and processes of an election in The Bahamas, and also introduction of the new Polycarbonate Biometric Voter’s Card to be implemented in the upcoming 2026 General Election.
