The Public Hospitals Authority Academy held a graduation ceremony for its first cohort of students.
Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville told graduates, “I trust that you understand just how significant and how important this particular training is to you, particularly those who will be deployed in the family islands. You are trailblazers and the work you do will set the pace for all who will come after and trust me more will come after from this first cohort. I’m advised that there were many applicants for this opportunity to become emergency medical technicians serving in the family islands and you are fortunate to be selected.”
Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis also addressed graduates saying, “when you discover what you will be in your life set out to do it as if God Almighty called you at this moment in history to do it. Do not just set out to do a good job, set out to do such a good job that the living, the dead or the unborn could not do it any better. That Ladies and Gentlemen is my charge to you today, it is a charge to care, a charge to stand in your good character, a charge to be excellent in your service.”
Thirty two people successfully completed the emergency medical technician and patient care advocate training programs.
