The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) continues to monitor the impact of ongoing industrial action across its institutions. The Authority has noted an increase in staff call-outs, which has placed additional strain on healthcare services.
Management remains steadfast in its strategic efforts to prioritize acute and emergent care, ensuring that patients in critical need continue to receive timely and effective treatment. In response to the growing influx of non-urgent cases at our facilities, the PHA has activated additional protocols to manage these cases and provide necessary support to patients.
Senior Executive Management maintains its command center, providing virtual support to Grand Bahama Health Services and Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, in addition to maintaining a physical presence at Princess Margaret Hospital, the nation’s largest public health facility. This effort ensures the effective implementation of all protocols and enables real-time adjustments to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
The PHA extends its deepest gratitude to team members across our institutions in New Providence and Grand Bahama who continue to rise to the occasion, navigating the current challenges while upholding their commitment to providing quality healthcare.
The comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients remain our top priority. The PHA remains committed to keeping the public informed and will provide updates as the situation develops.
