PLP’s Eastern New Providence Link Up

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) held a outdoor rally dubbed the Link Up featuring the representatives of constituencies in eastern New Providence.

Prime Minister and PLP Leader, the Hon. Philip Davis headlined the event where he delivered a speech calling on civil servants to ensure that the promises of the government are kept. He also used the opportunity encourage party supporters to unite.

“Let me say it straight, my administration has to deliver. The Bahamian people didn’t send us here to look busy. They sent us here to get things done. So if you’re in the public service and you are holding up progress, I want you to hear me load and clear, Brave say take dem files off dem desks and let’s deliver for the people of The Bahamas,” he said.

The Prime Minister went further stating, “if a Bahamian is waiting on land, move the files. If a Bahamian is waiting on housing, move the file. If a small business is waiting on support, move the file. If there is a project ready to go, get it moving.”

Hundreds of people attended the ralluy hParliamentarians, party Mr. Davis told those in attendance the government was elected to deliver not to stall, delay or make excuses. He said, “I told one fella straight if you miss that deadline I want your resignation left on my desk. Let me tell you the letter is on my desk because we are not here to collect titles. We are here to serve. And if you can’t keep pace with the people’s expectations then step aside and let someone else carry the weight.”

Also speaking at the event were the Members of Parliament for Sea Breeze, Yamacraw, Elizabeth and Fox Hill.
