PM At Mount Moriah Community Forum

Bahamian Media News:

Prime Minister and Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party, the Hon. Philip Davis addressed a community forum and participated in a walkabout in the Mount Moriah constituency this week.

The meeting was centered around crime prevention. Mr. Davis said, “my government is doing its part. We have strengthened the police force more officers on the ground, more vehicles, better equipment, improved training. We are investing in the prevention side too in youth programs, mentorship, job opportunities, after school support and we have rolled out a five point plan to tackle crime in a way that is structured, targeted and sustainable.”

The Prime Minister said the government cannot do the work alone and the community must assist. “Only the community can rebuild what has been broken, only neighbours can restore what silence has allowed to grow,” he said.

The Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe, Minister of Education and Technical and Vocational Training, the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin and area Member of Parliament, the Hon. McKell Bonaby along with high ranking police officers were also in attendance.
