PM On Grand Bahama Revitalization

Bahamian Media News:

Prime Minister and Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party, the Hon. Philip Davis announced that the government is in the final stages of a sale agreement for the Grand Lucayan Hotel on Saturday.  Mr. Davis was the keynote speaker on the second day of the Progressive Young Liberals Youth Conclave held on Grand Bahama from January 31st – February 1st.

Mr. Davis said, “we’re taking a holistic approach to the sale of Grand Lucayan Hotel and the redevelopment of the airport.  This is big and getting it right is important.”

He went further stating, “we’re careful to choose someone who has the vision, the heart and the ability to create something spectacular for you.  The store owners and vendors in Port Lucaya Marketplace are key stakeholders in this transformation.”

During his presentation the Prime Minister also pointed the finger at the former Minnis administration for the current position of the government.  He said, “but when them fellas who made the bad decisions that led us where we are today, when they start complaining does that make sense?  They made a big mess then complain when we ain’ clean up their mess fast enough.”

The conclave was held under the theme Keep Your Eyes Fixed On 2026.
