Road Traffic Graduation

The Road Traffic Department recently held a graduation ceremony for its newest group of supervisors.

Minister of Transport and Energy, the Hon. Jobeth Coleby-Davis was in attendance. She told the graduates that they are leaders in public safety. Coleby-Davis said, “as a minister of the government of The Bahamas and a Member of Parliament I believe that when we give young Bahamians a seat at the table and provide exposure for leadership and development opportunities we are not only building our nation but also enriching out communities with role models.”

Lashanda Sears was one of the graduates at the ceremony. During her presentation she spoke about what she and her colleagues experienced during training. She said, “we learned how to persevere when things was difficult, how to adapt when plans change and how to support one other through both successes and setbacks. Late night studying, early morning group projects, exams, laughter and memories we’ll carry forever.”

The new supervisors were taught about The Road Traffic Act and Regulations, road safety, conflict resolution and the transport management system.
