At a recent press event SpaceX Vice President of Launch, Kiko Dontchev outlined the company’s corporate outreach efforts in The Bahamas.
He said, we have donated $1 million to the University of The Bahamas to be used on stem education. This will go directly into helping educate the students and the teachers in how we teach about, you know, what does it mean to be an engineer, what does it mean to build things and what does it mean to fly things in space.”
The SpaceX Vice President also spoke to how Starlink, its satellite internet company, is offering assistance in the country. “As part of our partnership to help inspire the stem education in The Bahamas we’re donating another three hundred units of Starlink service along with one free year of service as a start. This will cover a Starlink unit in every public school plus some ability to have it in some of the private schools and nurseries too. We’re also donating fifty six Starlinks to DRM, the disaster relief management agency here in The Bahamas.”
