A mortgage fair for teachers was hosted by the Teachers & Salaried Workers Cooperative Credit Union in partnership with the Bahamas Union of Teachers over the weekend.

Teachers & Salaried Workers Cooperative Credit Union General Manager, Byron Miller spoke with ZNS News about the importance of the event.  He said, “today’s planning and orchestration of home ownership, real estate ownership allows our Teachers, our Educators, Guidance Counselors, Librarians to be in a position to own a home, own real estate so they have equity over the coming years to negotiate and build wealth for themselves and their families.”

Miller invited teachers to come to their offices to discuss their options in obtaining home ownership.  “All great things start with an idea.  Come in and talk to us about your idea.  Let us figure out with you, we want to partner with you.  Our slogan is ‘We’re Your Financial Partner’, we want to partner with you.  So come in and start the conversation even if that conversation takes a year or two in terms of physical things materializing at least you will have the information to plan.”
