Teen Motorcyclist Involved In Tragic Accident

Bahamian Media News:

A teen motorcyclist was killed over the weekend in a traffic accident on West Bay Street.

Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was on the scene where she provided details of the incident.  She said, “information received thus far is that the driver of a black Ford Explorer was traveling north in West Bay Street in the area of Coral Drive.  When the driver turned on his left indicator signal with a view of turning into the western sea view parking lot.  As he attempted to turn he felt an impact to the front portion of his vehicle and later observed a male operating a motorcycle traveling along the same corridor.  This male ran into a gate of a home on the western side of the street which resulted in him losing his life.”

Superintendent Skippings advised motorcyclists to wear the proper gear while operating a motorcycle.  She also encouraged motorcyclists to ensure that their bikes are licensed and insured.

The driver of the vehicle is assisting police with the investigation.
