Minister of the Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Vaughn P. Miller, confirmed the termination of two contracts and suspension of five, citing failure to meet twice-weekly collection requirements. “We are not nearly as clean and green as we need to be or should be,” he stated during a meeting at the Department of Physical Planning. Also present for the meetings were David Davis, Permanent Secretary; Launa Williams, Acting Director, Department of Environmental Health Services (DEHS); New Providence Ecology Park (NPEP) representatives and Bahamas Waste Management Representatives.
