Uptick In Voter Registration

The Parliamentary Registration Department held a press conference on Tuesday where an update on voter registration was provided.

Supervisor of Registration, Carolyn Burrows told reporters there has been an uptick in voter registration, transfers and verifications in the last two weeks since the Constituencies Commission Report was released.

Parliamentary Commissioner, Harrison Thompson informed of how and where voters can registers. He said, “the sites include public schools and community facilities such as Thelma Gibson Primary School, E. P. Roberts Primary School, Uriah McPhee Primary School, S. C. McPherson Junior High School, Sybil Strachan Primary School, Gambier Primary School, Nassau Village Urban Renewal Center, Edmund Moxey Center, Sadie Curtis Primary School, Adelaide Primary School and the Edwin Smiley Bastian Building.”

The Parliamentary Registration Department also intends to utilize a geospatial system to assist in verifying the address of voters.
