The Ministry of Housing & Urban Renewal, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Wellness, proudly sponsored a Seniors Health and Wellness Extravaganza under the theme “Your Wellness Matters.” The event took place on Thursday morning, October 17, 2024, at Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium.
Seniors from various constituencies arrived in their fitness attire, energized and ready to engage in low-impact, low-intensity exercises.
Mr. Wilton Russell, Sports Director at Urban Renewal, served as moderator of the event, and expertly coordinated the exercise activities, which were met with enthusiasm by all participants.
In addition to the fitness exercises, the event featured a variety of booths from health and wellness partners.
Participants had the opportunity to taste nutritious products and gather valuable health information from organizations such as the National Health Insurance Authority (NHI), the Cancer Society of The Bahamas, New Life Natural Company Limited, BAIC, the Bahamas Red Cross, and the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
This extravaganza highlighted the importance of health and fitness for our senior citizens, reaffirming that wellness is for everyone. After the event, the seniors enjoyed healthy snacks and drinks courtesy of the sponsors of the event.
