The new interim administration of the Valley Boys Junkanoo Group held a meeting with members this week on the way forward for the group.

Interim Deputy Chairman, Jeff Moncur addressed the meeting on the group’s restructuring. He said, “we knew, right away, that to operate a group of this size it takes all of us. This is not going to be a one man band or a handful of fellas band. So we got busy and we put together a structure to manage this group. And these are the parade management, finance, costume design, social outreach, there’s a few others, but there’s a number of committees that are already hard at work.”

Interim President, Trevor Davis informed members that the group had been registered as a non-profit organization. “Once you register as a non-profit organization you have to be accountable, he said.” He also informed that the logo had been trademarked.

The group is expected to participate in the Labour Day Parade on Friday, June 7th.
