World-class aquatics centre one step closer for Grand Bahama

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mario Bowleg gave an update on the progress of the proposed Grand Bahama Aquatics Centre, located at the Grand Bahama Sports Complex, while on island on June 5, 2025. With land clearing complete and the geotechnical phase now underway, the development of the 50-meter swimming pool is one step closer to becoming a world-class aquatic centre, capable of hosting international swimming competitions. From left are Permanent Secretary Neil Campbell, Head of the Division of Youth Sandena Neely, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Mario Bowleg, Construction Lab Technician Maya Grant-Giddings, Director of Sports Kelsie Johnson-Sills and Deputy Director of Sports Norris Bain.
