Bahamian Media News:

Young entrepreneurs on Grand Bahama are being encouraged to take advantage of opportunities available through the BeInspired Programme. This is a national entrepreneurship initiative designed to assist young Bahamians between the ages of 18 and 35 with establishing or expanding their businesses.

As part of the programme, small businesses can receive funding of up to $5,000 to acquire essential tools and supplies needed to support and grow their businesses.

Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture officials were recently in Grand Bahama as part of the BeInspired Family Island Tour, expanding the programme’s reach to more young Bahamians across the Family Islands.

As part of the tour, an information session was held at 6:00pm on Monday, August 17, 2026 at the University of The Bahamas (UB) Northern Campus Student Recreational Hall. Participants learned about the programme’s requirements, application process and other important details. Attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance on applying.

For those who were unable to attend the information session, the BeInspired team was also available to meet with interested individuals at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s Office, Regent Centre East on Tuesday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

This provided additional opportunities for young Bahamians to learn more about the programme and receive assistance with the application process.
