BTC continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the lives of Bahamians, once again lending its support to the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group at its 26th Annual Prayer Breakfast.

Held on Saturday, September 12 at the Baha Mar Convention Center under the theme, “Sisters Touching Lives for the Good and Glory of God,” the annual event brought together breast cancer survivors, supporters and advocates from across The Bahamas for a morning of prayer, fellowship, encouragement and reflection.

As a part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility, BTC supported the event through the purchase of a table, with members of the company’s team joining women from throughout the country who gathered in solidarity with those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.

“For BTC, the support is deeply rooted in the understanding that a cancer diagnosis affects far more than the individual,” said Tamara McKenzie, BTC’s Communications Manager. “Along with the physical and emotional challenges of treatment, patients and their families can face significant financial pressures associated with care, medication, travel and other expenses. The partnership with Sister Sister reflects our broader commitment to supporting organizations that provide meaningful assistance, encouragement and hope to Bahamian communities.”

President of the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group, Shantell Hutchinson said with the help of corporate partners like BTC, the Group can continue to create a network of support, encouragement and hope for women affected by breast cancer.

“Every contribution makes a difference,” said Hutchinson. “It helps us reach more women, provide meaningful assistance, and remind those going through this journey that they do not have to walk it alone. We are deeply grateful to BTC for standing with us and standing with the women we serve. Their support is a powerful reminder that when corporate Bahamas joins hands with the community, we can make a real and lasting difference in the lives of others.”

BTC also recognizes the many women whose lives have been changed by breast cancer – remembering those who have lost their lives, standing with those who continue to fight, and celebrating survivors whose strength and resilience continue to inspire.
