The Carmichael Urban Renewal in conjunction with the Royal Bahamas Police Force Carmichael Road Station & Criminal Investigation Division hosted the Flamingo Gardens Community to a Crime Prevention Symposium at United Christian Church, Flamingo Gardens, September 23, 2026.

The goal: be your brother’s keeper to have a safer community. 

Guest Speakers for the Symposium were Chief Superintendent Darren Dixon, Officer-In-Charge of the Carmichael Road Police Station; Superintendent Levon Levarity, CID Officer of the Special Crimes/Armed Robbery Unit; and Inspector Raphael Miller, CID Officer of the Special Crimes/Auto Theft Unit. 

Topics discussed included Neighborhood Watch and being cautious and aware of one’s surroundings; preventing vehicle car theft and fraud; installing security cameras at homes and places of business; measures women can take to protect from assault.  

The symposium was met with great interaction from members of the community in attendance.
