It is with profound sadness that I extend my deepest condolences, on behalf of the Ministry of Urban Renewal and Community Relations, to the families and loved ones of all those affected by this morning’s tragic traffic accident.
This devastating incident has resulted in the loss of four young lives and has left four other young persons seriously injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured, and we continue to pray earnestly for their full and speedy recovery.
This tragedy has shaken our nation deeply, as it involves young people with their entire futures ahead of them. The pain of such a loss is immeasurable, not only for their families but for the wider community.
Among those we mourn are Diamond Stubbs and Stania Webb, two exceptional young women who were directly connected to the Ministry of Urban Renewal and Community Relations through our youth development and scholarship initiatives with Langston University.
Diamond Stubbs was awarded a scholarship during the Easter Band Auditions held in April of this year and was preparing to begin her studies at Langston University this fall. Stania Webb received her scholarship two years ago and had successfully completed two years of study at the university, preparing to return for her third academic year.
Both young women embodied talent, promise, and determination. Their achievements reflected the hope and potential of our nation’s youth and the importance of continuing to invest in opportunities that uplift and empower them.
During this difficult time, we pray that Almighty God will comfort the bereaved families, strengthen those who are injured, and surround everyone affected by this tragedy with His peace.
The Ministry of Urban Renewal and Community Relations stands in full solidarity with all the families impacted. As a nation, we mourn together, and we commit ourselves to supporting one another with compassion and care in the days ahead.
May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.
