Minister of Transport and Acting Minister of Energy and Aviation, the Hon. Leon Lundy, today met with Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to The Bahamas, alongside senior officials from the Department of Aviation and representatives of Chinese business interests.

The meeting focused on matters related to aviation development and opportunities to strengthen cooperation between The Bahamas and China in support of the sector’s continued growth. Discussions included aviation connectivity, infrastructure development, and areas of mutual interest that could contribute to the advancement of the aviation industry in The Bahamas.

Minister Lundy welcomed the opportunity for constructive dialogue and emphasized the importance of international partnerships in supporting the modernization and long-term development of the country’s aviation sector.

The Minister expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Yan for the engagement and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to continued collaboration aimed at creating opportunities that benefit the Bahamian people and strengthen The Bahamas’ position as a regional aviation hub.
