Press Release
On August 3rd, Western Air provided a critical boost for domestic aviation and tourism, through the launch of its inaugural service between Freeport, Grand Bahama and South Bimini, Bahamas.
This move affirms the Bahamas Government’s mandate to provide safe and reliable air services to island destinations, while accelerating the construction of over 19 Family Island Airports.
The new domestic flight comes on the heel of the recently launched international direct service by American Airlines from Miami in February of this year.
Passengers on this new Western Air route can travel direct between Freeport and Bimini on Mondays & Thursdays, with service expected to ramp up as demand grows.
